Who we are

Monroe Accounting Solutions has been serving individuals, families, and small businesses in McLeansboro and the surrounding communities for over two decades. We started as a small local practice and have grown by doing one thing well: treating every client like a neighbor, not a number. Currently the third and fourth generations of Monroe's are preparing taxes in the firm. Oren Monroe started doing taxes in about 1940. Russell Monroe joined him in the 1960's. Alan came on full time in 1983, after working part time from 1975 till that time. Alex joined the firm in 2006.
Our staff all live locally. We understand the Hamilton County and surrounding area economy — the farms, the small businesses, the families working hard to build something. We know the challenges that your farms and businesses face, as well as the challenges faced by families, and are prepared to assist you to deal with those problems and challenges. That local knowledge shapes everything we do, from the deductions we look for to the advice we give. Our services are not just limited to people that live in our immediate area. We are prepared to do your tax return no matter what state you live or work in.

Alan Monroe
President & Principal Accountant
Alan joined the firm full time in 1983 after working part time since 1975, carrying on the tradition his father Russell and grandfather Oren built. He brings decades of hands-on experience serving Hamilton County families and businesses.
Alex Monroe
Accountant
Alex joined Monroe Accounting Solutions in 2006, representing the fourth generation of the Monroe family in tax and accounting. He brings a fresh perspective while honoring the firm's deep roots in the McLeansboro community.
Marla Appel
Staff accountant
The newest member of our tax preparation staff, Marla brings years of experience in reviewing and preparing income tax returns as well as bookkeeping abilities.
Rachel Wuebbels
Office manager
Rachel keeps the office humming. She does most of the data entry for bookkeeping and payroll as well as manages the front office.
